Things to do - general

The great location, laid-back atmosphere and huge range of adventure activities on offer in Kaş has made it  an ideal base to explore the Turkish Riviera, which is full of ancient cities and historical sites from the Lycian civilization. Kaş is also a hub for divers with some excellent wreck diving opportunities just off shore and a selection of trips, kayaking tours and hikes are all easily arranged. Taking a multi day gulet cruise is a perfect way to explore the surrounding areas such as Kekova, Kalkan and Demre.

To the west of the old town is the Çukurbağ Peninsula, where you’ll find a well-preserved ancient theatre, the only remains of ancient Antiphellos once on this site. Above Kaş there are several Lycian rock tombs in the mountain wall and just off shore is the Greek island of Meis (Kastellorizo), which can be visited on a day trip.

Kekova is one of the most popular Lycian sites, situated upon a very attractive spot on the Turkish coast. It's also referred to as the sunken city as the ancient Lycian port city that was situated in this region is now most underwater. It provides some incredible sights such as underwater constructions, amphoras scattered on sea bed and the most famous of all a tomb in the middle of the sea.

According to the ‘Sunday Times’, this beautiful town attracts the kind of visitor who would also enjoy Tuscany or the Dördöğne while the ‘Guardian’ likens the town to “the Italian Riviera minus the poseurs.”
